Picking the Right Mobile Phone for Your Kids

If you are thinking of getting your child a mobile phone you really need to take a lot of things into consideration. This is especially true if your child is younger and not even a teen yet. In today's world a lot of parents probably feel that it's the best thing to do since it will allow the child to be able to contact them from anywhere for just about anything. But, this also can be a problem because it means they can pretty much contact anyone other than you. So before you get them a phone make sure you do your research.

You should get in touch with your current provider and ask them about the different options that they have available. You may discover that your provider might have special offers just for younger children and there might be a variety of different ways to restrict certain kinds of access. They might even be able to restrict your child's calling to anyone outside of the numbers you allow them to call.

You need to look for a phone that is going to fit the age and the size of your child. There are some phones that are a lot smaller and far more compact that make them a lot better for smaller hands. There are also some phones that have just a few buttons that will allow for only pre-programmed numbers that they can call. On the other hand, older children can of course handle larger phones.

You can also limit the features of the cell phone. There are phones of course that come with cameras as well as Internet access. These might be the kinds of features that might get a child into trouble so you might want to go for a phone that is more basic that will allow them only to make and receive phone calls and nothing else.

You also want to look for safety features on the phone as well. There are some phones that will include GPS devices and these can be activated when you can't find your child when they might not be answering their phone and you think they might be missing.

You should also make sure that you compare all of the different mobile phone plans. If your child is older you may want a regular cell and them add them onto a family plan that you might already have available through your provider. For the younger child you just might want to get a prepaid cell phone, one that you can periodically add minutes to when the child needs them.

Whatever you decide to do, it really is important that what you give your child suits their needs and the age and maturity of the child. Even some teens can't be trusted to handle a full on cell phone and it's many different features.

Mobile Phone Programs Especially for Senior Citizens

One of the main reasons why a lot of senior citizens don't want to get a mobile phone is because of the expense of the cell phone plans out there. Since cell phones can really be important for anyone, especially seniors they really should have the ability to own one. There are a few providers out there that understand this and they are turning some of their marketing efforts into pushing senior packages that offer a lot of the regular features as other more expensive plans.

One program is offered by AT&T called AT&T Senior Nation 200. This is a wireless plan that gives seniors 200 anytime minutes along with 500 night and weekend minutes. This plan includes their long distance, call waiting, voice mail, conference calling, caller ID and call forwarding. They also can make unlimited calls to others who are also on the AT&T network. This plan is just around $30 per month.

Another one specifically for seniors is called Jitterbug by Great Call. This is one mainly for seniors and offer plans that range from 50 minutes for anytime a month and prices range from $14.99 to $79.99 for unlimited talk as well as text. All the plans will carry over with the anytime minutes and there are no contracts nor are there any cancellation fees to deal with. There are no extra charges for data. They have access to healthy tips on a daily basis, a phone book, calendar, text, and there is also access to a live nurse. However, there is a one time set up fee that you will need to pay.

Consumer Cellular considers itself the official service for the Association for Retired Persons. As of this year, 2011 their plans range from $19 per month for 250 minutes and can go up to $57 a month for 2,000 minutes per month. There are alerts before you go over your plans limits and the plan can be charged any time of the month and there are no extra charges for changing plans.

Verizon also offers a special senior package that's called Verizon Nationwide 65 Plus. This is a special plan that gives 200 anytime minutes as well as 500 nighttime and weekend minutes all which costs $29.99 per month. There are no fees for any local long distance calls or any other charges for local long distance. You need to be 65 years or older in order to qualify for this plan.

If none of these plans seem to fit your needs, there is always the TracFone, although they don't truly have a senior plan, their plans are far less money than any of the other wireless providers. If you don't plan to use your phone a lot then this could be what you are looking for. You can get a plan that can cost you as low as $9.99 per month. Most of their new phones that you buy will come with double minutes for the life of the phone so this will double your monthly minutes for no extra charge each month.

How to Decrease the Size of Your Mobile Phone Bill

You probably already know just how easy it can be for you to forget how often you are using your mobile phone and how quickly that bill of your can grow each month. There are so many people calling you and texting you and so many things that you find yourself doing with your phone yourself that before you know it, your monthly bill has shot through the roof. However, there is help and you can learn to manage your bill a lot better if you follow the few steps listed here.

You need to make sure that your cell phone has caller ID on it and then you can actually use your phone more like a pager. You do this by looking to see who it is that is calling and simply don't answer it. Get to a land line and then call the person back that was trying to get a hold of you.

You can manage the minutes on your phone better if you check the feature that lets you know how many minutes you've piled up. You should do this periodically and can be done on all cell phones. Although accessing it may be different each phone, they all come with this feature. If you keep track of your minutes in this manner it's going to make you more alert to just how many minutes you are starting to pile up during the month and it should help you to cut down on your phone use.

If your calling plan has special offers during certain times of the day or night or on weekends, then you need to take full advantage of these offers. Try and do your best to put off your calls until you can utilize the offers that your calling plan has. Especially if there are certain nights that are free. Also make sure that you are aware of all of your cell plan's restrictions.

Make sure to be on a plan that is going to best suit your personal needs when it comes to using your phone. For instance if you see that you are going over and you are being charged some premium per minute rate when you go over a certain amount then you might want to go to a different level on your plan so that it becomes more cost effective for you. On the other hand if you happen to have too many unused minutes on your phone at the end of the month then downgrade to save money.

Consider doing bundling of text messages as well as picture messages. If you bundle you will be paying a flat rate for the month instead of paying per message. So you won't be getting charged premium prices for each message you send.

You also need to make sure that you pick the right network for you and your phone. You may find that a different network might be a lot better for the kinds of things that you need to use your phone for so don't be afraid to call around and see if there are better plans and services out there for you. Another thing you can do is consider joining a shared plan with another family member or even a friend of yours in order for both of you to save money.

Understanding the Basic Options Of Your 3G iPhone

If you just got your new 3G iPhone and you are a little overwhelmed at all the different things you can do like talking on the phone while you are watching a video or playing a game or all the other multitasking you can do, don't fret. It's really not all that tough to do. Just follow the instructions below and you should be OK with your new mobile device.

To make a call with your new phone just simply tap on the phone icon, that's the green box with a white phone in the middle. You also can check the range through the status icon to see if you can make the call from where you currently are. The range will be indicated by multiple bars on the icon. If you have a lot of bars you shouldn't have any trouble making a call. If there are just a few bars showing then you might have a little bit of a delay.

You can now pick your numeric keypad and this is the icon that looks like 9 little square buttons you find on a phone. Just tap in the number that you want to call and then tap on the word Call. You can also go to your Favorites icon and you can access all of the numbers you call the most as well as your Contacts icon where you can add all of your phone numbers you want to keep on your iPhone. And don't forget you can tap on Recent Calls and you can return any calls that you might have missed.

If you tap on your Settings button you can then tap on General, Network and Enable 3G. This will turn on your 3G access for your network when you don't have any Internet connection available otherwise. When you are surfing the Internet on your phone and you want to make a phone call at the same time this 3G feature comes in really handy.

If you want to be able access your email and web browsing you will go to your Settings and then tap on General and then go and tap on Network and after that you will pick Data Roaming On. This will allow you to access these things with ease.

It's very simple to charge your iPhone you just take the USB cable and plug it into your iPhone port and then put the other end of the USB into the port on your computer. Don't forget though to have your computer on when you do this or it's just going to zap your phone of the rest of it's battery power.

To send a text message, which is something you probably really want to do, you just tap on the Plus sign and then pick from your contacts list and simply type in the message that you want to send. When you are done you just click on the word Send. If the person you want to send a message to isn't in your contact list at the time you just tap on the pen sign and then type in their number and then the message that you want to send them and click Send.

Note: If you want to avoid paying for extra fees then you should turn off your data roaming when you are not using the Internet.

How To Make Your Own iPhone Apps and Generate a New Source of Income For Yourself

Did you know that you can make your own apps for the iPhone and make a good deal of money. But in order to do so though, you need to know what you are doing and just how to go about doing it. There needs to be a lot of planning in order for you to be able to find any success at it and the key is to work on something you believe in or are passionate about.

One of the first things you need to do is to take into consideration all of the different categories that you can find at the iPhone App store. Games, Entertainment, Utilities, Social Networking, Sports, Travel, Music, and many, many more. You need to look at these and then consider which category you might want to focus on. The best thing you can do is focus on a category that you have a lot of interest and have a lot of knowledge in as well. Don't consider making apps that are going to take an incredible amount of time to download onto someone's phone either. That will not work in your favor.

It is best to just play it safe. Don't spend hours and hours of your time to create some incredible program that may be good, but may lose interest because no one wants to waste their time downloading it. So keep it short, sweet and simple. Some of the most popular apps are simple, are just one page and don't cost much. So keep it that the thinking and try to come up with something that is different yet simple.

After you have come up with your great idea you are going to have to turn that into something that is real. So you will need to be able to sit down and put your idea down on paper. Create a rough draft of it a long with sketches. You will also need to include all the important details you need for it to be able to work and make sense. Your idea can't be vague it needs to have as much detail as possible.

The average person with a great idea is not always the right person to make that great idea come to life. That means, more than likely you will need to hire someone that can take your app idea and turn it into a reality for you. So your best bet is to find someone that will be willing to take on the job at a nominal fee. You don't want someone that wants a large amount of the money you make, just someone that free lances for a living. You do not want someone who demands that your share your future profits with them. You just want someone that turns people's ideas into realities with their skills to write the script or program that is needed.

Once you have your app written this means you are now ready to get it to the iPhone App Store. You will need to sign up for their iPhone Developer Program they offer on their site. This will cost your $99 a year to be a member. However, this is a relatively small amount of money when you can more than likely make that back within a few months if not less once the app is selling. When you send in your app by the way, make sure that the name is original and doesn't match any other names in the store or they will reject it, even if it's an entirely unique app. Other than that you should be accepted within just a few weeks. They usually won't make you wait too long because after all, the sooner it starts selling the sooner they get 30% of the sales from your app.

Must Have iPhone Apps for the Realtor

More often than not the realtor is always on the run and not spending much time in the office and that's why it's a good idea for a realtor to own an iPhone and with that iPhone you can find some great apps that will make your wonder what took you so long to get them in the first place. There are some pretty helpful ones especially ones that you can use while on the run.

A great one for any realtor is one that makes you look super smart to anyone that might come up to ask you about real estate. The Near Buy app is one that will be able to tell you how much the house is down the street. That's a familiar question when someone finds out your a realtor and then want to know a price for a home that normally you'd not have an immediate answer for. But, with Near Buy you just look up the house on the spot and you'll have the answer for them. Talk about looking smart!

Around Me is a great way to try and influence your buyers into seriously consider buying a certain home. With this app you can give the potential buyer all of the information they need about the lifestyle around the neighborhood, where the most interesting places can be found in the area, where the hospitals are, where movie theaters are, hotels, grocery stores, parking and so on.

The Smarter Agent is a complete tool for the real estate agent. This is a very easy to use and accurate app that can look up all the current listings of homes and give the agent all the information that a buyer might want to know about a home when it comes to the features of the home as well as the price.

My New Place is an app that focuses on rental information on properties. Even though you may be trying to sell a home it never hurts to have rental information. This way you will have information about the price of a rental that may be similar to a home up for sale and show the buyer the price differences and why they would be better off buying.

Evernote is used by a lot of different people so why not the busy realtor? This app is a great way to not only organize notes and reminders but it can also be used to send photos and voice notes in PDF files that can be the opened up on a laptop or desk top. It's a great way to keep track of all the things you need to do in your busy day.

There are well over 75,000 apps available at the iTunes store where you can get the apps but the above are just a handful that should be extremely helpful for the real estate agent.

How To Save Money by Buying a Used or Refurbished Mobile Phone

Not everyone can afford some of the outrageous prices that are being charged for some of the smart phones that are on the market. If you are a person who is wanting a phone that can do a lot more than just text and send and receive calls but can't afford a brand new one, then you might want to look into buying a used or refurbished mobile phone.

When you start looking for one it's important that you understand that whatever phone you buy whether it's AT& T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, etc., this will be the company that you will have to go with. So when getting a used phone make sure that you have done your research on the phone service. Because if you buy a Verizon used phone the you are going to have to use Verizon for your phone service.

When you are shopping around for you used phone whether it's for personal use or it's for mobile phone marketing or some other reason, you still need to be able to find a good and reliable source to get this phone from. There are good number of sellers on the Internet that sell refurbished and used phones. One in particular would be eBay and with eBay you can at least check to see how the seller is ranked with customers before spending any of your money on the product.

You also want to see if, even if it is used, if the phone will come with any kind of warranty, or a guarantee or some sort of return policy in case something goes wrong with the phone, especially right after you get it. Most people who sell used phones will give 15 to 90 days worth of warranty on a used product. It just depends upon if the phone is actually used or it's been refurbished. You'll probably get a longer guarantee on one that has been refurbished than just used.

Make sure that you do some price comparisons before you decide on a particular phone. Pay close attention as well when you are shopping around, if you are not careful you might miss out on coupon offers on some company websites, so make sure that you pay close attention to any promotions they might have going on. You find one of these you could save yourself even more money. And we all want to save more money, don't we?

Make sure that if you happen to go to eBay and find sellers that show that they also have their own website, go and check out there websites. You might be surprised to find that they sell a lot of their items a lot cheaper on their own website than they do over on eBay. So make sure to keep your eyes open for that possibility.
